The First Baptist Church of Rushville is an American Baptist Church. Sunday Worship 9:00AM with Sunday School following at 10:10AM.
First Baptist of Rushville has been around for a long time but that means nothing if we don't stay in touch with the times. We understand while it's important to never forget the past (and we proudly honor those who came before us) a church must not be caught standing still admiring what's reflected in the rear view mirror. Through the leading of the Spirit, we are looking forward and moving forward and that means we are in the midst of an extensive renovation of our facility, our ministries, our children's education program and our worship experiences. We'd like you to know that on September 10, 2017 at 11:00 am we will introduce a new, very contemporary worship experience for younger ears and eyes. It's called THE JOURNEY. We are all on a chronological journey which is obvious but we are also on a spiritual journey which is not so obvious. No matter where one is in life, few would argue that their journey couldn't be a little better. The goal of The Journey (our new worship experience) is to help all who come, understand their personal journey a little better and to get the most out of their journey through a personal relationship with the Person who created all of us. While it might appear to the casual observer that all churches are just "playing church" and nothing of value ever gets accomplished - we say "LOOK MORE CLOSELY". If you look more closely, it IS possible to find a church family who takes seriously Christ's mandate to love selflessly, to forgive unconditionally; to be kind universally and to be generous exceptionally. No church family is perfect but if you find one that seriously strives to be the family of Jesus, you will find something special that will help you get the absolute most out of your journey. We invite everyone who visits this page to drop in at least once in September/October and experience this new worship service and if you have younger children - bring them to The Train Station - (see corresponding tab on this page). While the method by which we present the gospel will constantly be changing, the Message we present will never change. Come join us in The Journey - and see if you journey doesn't change for the better because you did!

Our egg hunt will continue as scheduled at 10am, however it will be held indoors. Everyone is welcome to attend!

Our children's education program repeats the same lesson each week for a month, presenting the lesson through a movie, craft, computer activity and drama. This week was drama week: check out this short clip of the children dressed up for the skit. Sunday School follows Traditional Service at 10:10am. Starting in two weeks our Modern Service begins at 11am. We invite you to take #TheJourney with us.
